Your Children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you. And though they are with you they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, for their thoughts dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. Kahlil Gibran

Combat

There are many family events in Missoula. We are always stumbling into one. Yesterday we just planned to head down to ride the hand carved carousel and found a small free kids' festival.

The one problem with Willow's favorite Sp*nge B*b shoes is she likes to look at them all of the time. Her $35.00 Ke*n sandals are far second to her $3.99 fake Cr*cs.

There was small bounce house for ages 1-3. Willow liked it but it was a bit warm in the sunny spots.
She said she would rather slide down the one for the big kids. I bet she would. Niko went down quite a few times.
She said she wanted to throw a wet sponge at a face behind a painted board, but then she lost her nerve and wouldn't take the wet sponge.
Niko was excited to ride the carousel and grab the rings as each summer he gets closer to being able to reach far. He got a couple on his first ride.
The night before we went for a late hike up Waterworks Hill and then went for ice cream at the Big Dipper. (I forgot the camera, unfortunately.) Willow insisted on white ice cream in a cup and then ate an entire kiddie portion. She was singing all the way home and didn't get to bed until midnight.

Here she is enjoying freshly made kettle corn. That is one of my favorite's too and hard to stop eating.
Willow has a small sliver in her palm from a playground in Jackson Hole. She proudly shows it and tells everyone that a crocodile scratched her and gave her a boo boo.

I love Willow walking down the street. Another great photo. She is such a great subject ... or you are a great people photographer.
