Your Children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you. And though they are with you they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, for their thoughts dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. Kahlil Gibran

Eggy Q-Tip Creations

Willow decorated Easter Eggs for the very first time. Yiayia bought Q-tip paint "brushes" with paint in the stem of the swab. Interesting. She bought them hoping it would be less of a mess...overall, yes; however, Willow has permanently stained hands. That's where most of the mess went.
Coloring eggs is very serious business.

She even painted the plate.

Sometimes I forget how sweet Niko is. He was outside with friends having a N*rf gun battle when we thought it best to squeeze in egg decorating. So, I figured we would have Niko decorate after Willow went to bed. Keep in mind that Niko has NEVER liked to color eggs even when a small boy. One year it was somewhat fun when his Aunt and Uncle were visiting but Yiayia had bought cardboard cut out type items that made the eggs 3-D. He was intrigued by that....wait...I have a photo. (Niko 5 1/2 years old/Easter 2004: and people wonder how I knew by 1st grade that he is gifted with dyslexia.)

Niko:2010. He settled down to color eggs despite his disappointment that we didn't even yell out to tell him we were coloring eggs because he really wanted to see Willow color them for the first time.

So, I have a photo of the basket Willow painted at school next to Niko's colored egg to bring the crafting spirit of both of them together.
