Your Children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you. And though they are with you they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, for their thoughts dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. Kahlil Gibran

She's 3!

Willow was so excited about her birthday this year...so excited. Last year was her 1st birthday with us and she cried through most of the celebration. The birthday song has never been a happy one. This year she was eager to have a turn and share cupcakes with her friends at pre-school. (They were a bit over zealous about the fire safety unit, because Willow was a little nervous about the candle. The left over 3 candle from my 37th birthday...ummm...last year.)
There are veggies around her neck. Does that count?
We enjoyed Thai take-out and some white cupcakes with whipped topping.
Willow enjoyed the whipped topping the most...which she calls "sauce."
She also enjoyed the $20 Great Grandma sent in a card. I put it away when she was distracted and she came back asking, "Where'd my money go?"
Niko blew up a balloon for her and she had so much fun throwing and catching it.
Paul and I gave her a wooden ABC puzzle. She is focused on mastering the alphabet.

However, Willow is absolutely obsessed with scissors and will cut until someone manages to take and hide them. She cuts and cuts and says, "Watsh thish!"
Aunt Mary sent Willow a popup book. She happened to open up to a page with a crow that popped out. She said, "Woah...that scared me!"

Willow had a great birthday and now she is going to welcome her 4th.
