Your Children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you. And though they are with you they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, for their thoughts dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. Kahlil Gibran

Dear Niko,
I hope you are having a great time in China and I can't wait to see your new baby sister. It's going to be hard at first being the big brother, but then it will start to be easier and more fun, but I'm sure it's fun right now. When you get home, I'm going to have a little suprise for you and Willow. The pictures from the Great Wall of China were really cool. Did you get tired climbing up that high?
Once again, I can't wait to see you and Willow.
I miss you...
Love,
Bella

Ok, it has taken me a week to figure out how to write a comment.. I hope this one goes through!

Welcome Willow and congratulations to all of you. I am living vicariously through you guys and am certainly tuning in each day for the updates.

Willow is such a gem and Niko is certainly a great big brother! I don't believe that I've ever seen you glowing so much! How blessed Willow is. It breaks my heart to see all of the bruises on her limbs and am glad that you were able to get to her when you did.

I can't wait to meet her in person and hear of Niko's tales. The views of China are just incredible - especially the great wall. Can you imagine building such a thing?

Well, I will tune in tomorrow! Please tell Tommy that I said hello!

You are sharing the most precious time together, building memories of a lifetime. It is plain to see the emotional roller coaster that you are all on and how your family loves Willow like she has always been right there...your daughter. A gift from God to all of you.

Have a safe journey back. I can't wait to see you girls!

Welcome home everyone!!! Once you get caught up with your sleep, I can't wait to meet Willow.

You have not missed any great weather, but maybe now that you are home it will improve and you all can come to our pool.

Rest well............

Hi, Just came across your blog by accident after clicking next, after writing my own. That was last night and I sat and read all through your entries under the adoption part. I have to admit I felt so happy for you and I had a little cry. I have been thinking that we will adopt in the coming years, partly because I don't think we can have kids, partly as it breaks my heart to think of children without a home! Still have to get the marriage done first!!

Anyway thanks for sharing.. and all the way over in cold old england someone is reading this and thinking of you!!!

Hello Lucy, Paul, Nikko, and sweet Willow,
They are growing so fast...hang on...it's quite a ride! As I have said before, "I would give anything to have my children small again." I am thankful that you allow me to watch them grow. I will be checking in and perhaps giving advice (it won't always be right:)) but it will be fun.

Sincerely,
Bev

I happened upon your adoption blog while dealing with a bout of insomnia. What a beautiful story. I too have an adopted daughter that I first met as an eleven year old foster child. I loved her from the moment we met. She became the 5th child in our family.
Niko is blessed to have such wonderful role models in his life.
The photo of Willow with her red dress over face is so beautiful.
